Welcome!

I am an assistant professor of strategy and entrepreneurship, on faculty at the Department of Management, Aarhus University, School of Business and Social Sciences (BSS).

My work explores the career and organizational ramifications of market frictions originating in personal life. I focus on how people in scaling companies align work with personal circumstances and how these forces shape firm trajectories.

I investigate cause and effect within the constraints of observational data, using population-wide administrative datasets and quasi-experimental research designs. These tools are standard in my field. What sets my research apart is the legwork I put into carefully stewarding relationships with stakeholders—nonprofits, governmental agencies, businesses, and people with lived experience—to access richer data and uncover novel mechanisms. This approach has allowed me to secure datasets that would have otherwise remained inaccessible by engaging government employees in the research process and demonstrating the value of answering research questions. Along the way, I became a skilled negotiator—a skill I now teach.
